The Big Bull is a monster in Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy.
Description[]
- "The Big Bull would perhaps be more accurately described as a "big bully". It cannot be reasoned with, and will persistently swing and smash its hammer at anything it feels like bothering. Do not get in the way!"
- ―Book of Sphinx
- "Partial to swinging his hammer around."
- ―Monster Inspector
- "The hammer-wielding monstrosity is renowned for its bad temper. Such is the size of its weapon, it acts as a shield without the need for a defensive pose."
- ―Abydos Museum
Traits, Appearance, and Abilities[]
The Big Bull is a anthropomorphic bull-like creature with ram horns, somewhat like the Minotaur of Greek mythology. It wields a massive axe hammer and wears thick armor.
The Big Bull will approach a foe and swing its hammer around its head several times, protecting it on all sides. It will then charge at its foe, stop, and slam its hammer down in front of it in a devastating attack that also leaves it vulnerable from behind.
Strategy for Sphinx[]
Avoid the Big Bull's hammer at all costs. When it begins to swing it, run around until it slams into the ground. Then, run behind it and attack with the Blade of Osiris. Repeat this until it's dead or flashing (if you want to capture it). Another strategy is to be in an area where it doesn't notice you; from there, you can hit it from the back using an acid dart.
Locations[]
- Great Wall Entrance I (Non-Respawning)
- Uruk Canyon
- Lost Temple of Heliopolis (Non-Respawning)
Connection with Ancient Egypt[]
The Big Bull may be based on the ram god, Kherty, a symbol of both hostility and protection. Big Bulls both attack foes and protect themselves with their hammers.
Trivia[]
- The Big Bull is one of the four largest creatures in the game (the others are the Green Giant Worm, the Geb, and the Spitting Toad).
